IMPACT Company Expectations
Placement in an IPAC company is not dependent on age or grade, but rather a dancers awareness and ability to display the following principles:
TECHNICAL ABILITIES
The ability to execute a dance step or series of steps with proper alignment, placement, while demonstrating strength with lines, extension, and flexibility.
ASSIMILATION
The ability to pick up choreography in a timely manner with attention to details while also being able to add artistry and showmanship.
WORK ETHIC & DISCIPLINE
Demonstrate a strong focus and attentiveness to all classes; receive and apply constructive criticism and arrive early to lessons prepared and motivated to work.
MATURITY OF MOVEMENT
The ability to take choreography and add the essence of the individual to create elements of storytelling and artistry rather than executing movement without purpose.
RESPECT & PROFESSIONALISM
Demonstrate respect and gratitude for all teachers and peers at all times in all settings; attend classes with an open mind to all styles, adhere to professional standards and represent the studio with excellence
DEDICATION & COMMITMENT
Demonstrate responsibility in the commitments being asked of a company dancer and communicate with teachers.
At any time during the season, dancers may request to meet with IPAC faculty to discuss their progress on these principles.
