IMPACT Classes

IMPACT offers a variety of classes for all ages including jazz, tap, ballet, hip hop, acro, and combo classes.  Scroll through the list below to check out our fall lineup!

IPAC Class Descriptions

Creative Movement

These classes are designed to expand dance related motor skills for ages 3-4 and help children learn to take simple directions from the teacher. Children gain body awareness, develop coordination and self-expression through basic dance movement and music. This class uses a wide variety of music, props, and balancing techniques.

Combo Classes

Progressing from Creative Movement, dancers in these classes learn basic steps, while adding the complexities of teamwork, such as working in groups and lines. Basic movement themes such as; jumping, spinning, and skipping are explored. Students work with partners to facilitate working in a group setting.

Level 1

Level 1 focuses on the foundations of movement in order to develop proper alignment, technique and traveling steps. Students are expected to show awareness of basic technique, appropriate timing and musicality.

Level 2

Level 2 students are given a similar structure to Level 1 students with an increased expectation of proper technique, musicality, and directional changes. Students will focus on building strength, flexibility, control needed to execute movement, and overall stamina. Each class will also include challenging combinations of center floor work and across-the-floor combinations.

Level 3

Students focus on more complex coordination while refining technique. At this level students are given extended exercises increasing stretching and strengthening. Execution of movement and vocabulary should be established.

Level 4

Level 4 challenges students to take individual responsibility for proper posture, body alignment/mature coordination, spatial awareness, orientation of the body, and knowledge of and executing technique with precision and artistry. Students at this level have a strong understanding of vocabulary and can adequately demonstrate movement and musical performance.
